NWF Hill forts
« on: September 03, 2012, 10:47:34 PM »
Finally got my thumb out and made a good start on building some small forts for NWF skirmishes. It's only taken me about 8 or more years!  lol

Yeah, that looks really good already.

Not sure the corrugated cardboard will always be a treat to paint, but on the other hand sometimes it works just fine.  :)

Sweet! I have a similar but too ambitious half finished project laying around in a box. I long to finish it.

They do look good, very easy to imagine the paint on them already. Get to it

Painting has begun! :o

A coat of gritty grout to give some texture, then all over dark brown interior latex base. Then a heavy dry brush of kahki tan craft paint. I'm thinking a beige/tan/coffee spray paint next to soften things up before giving the wood bits a grey dry brush.

Wishing I had an airbrush. ::)

Airbrushes rock for these things. Earth tones come out very convincing.

A big soft brush and plenty of wrist action will set you fine  :)

What you do in your own time is your business James.  ;)

Can't wait to see these painted, especially the tall fort.
