Maxim rules for Black Powder - any suggestions?
« on: September 10, 2012, 11:19:24 PM »
Has the community reached a concensus on how to represent Maxims in Black Powder? I understand the anachronism and deliberate omission but I'm sure I can't be the only one who wants to use them anyway!

No jams, roll 2 dice and stop if both are misses.

If that feels too powerful, the other way we have done it is if either is a miss.  So roll 2 D6 rather than the usual MG 1 but stop if one is a miss.

I've written some material for publication for BP and I've gone with simply ignoring the jamming rule as, in reality, jams were very infrequent. Maxims should however be quite rare and therefore shouldn't overpower the game.
