Russian Civil War Anarchists
« on: 12 September 2012, 01:49:30 AM »
Not too long ago I painted up these Russians to play the role of Civil War Anarchists under Nestor Makhno. Unfortunately I moved away from the buddy that I had planned to skirmish with... he had some red Soviets that were going to be responsible for arresting my poor communists! In any case, more pictures are available in my Russian Civil War gallery:

Thanks

 Nice work. Gorgeous figure!
 Painting at the highest level.

Here are just a red cap - it's too much  ;)

Now that is some gorgeous brushwork right there! Do you have any plans on expanding the force?

Very nice.  As already said great choice of colours, with the possible exception of the red cap as Cuprum noticed, they look splendid.

Much more contrast with your highlights than I would dare myself but I think I need to try it

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, I appreciate it.

I do intend to expand this force. I have a handful of deserters who deserted right along with their machine guns, and they'll add some fire power to the group. I have to roughen them up a bit though since they are very well turned out Czarist soldiers at the moment :)

Tnanks again,
n.

If they're anarchists, how come they're all facing the same direction!

They're the Copplestone Castings Russian partisans set.

How does Copplestone compare size-wise with Artizan?  In Artizan's WW II Partisan's line, there are two sets of eastern front partisans with Mosin-Nagant rifles - I plan on using them to fight Freikorps in actions in the Baltic region, and wondered if I could mix in some Copplestone for variety (as if some are Latvian Townsmen, some in ex-Imperial Russian uniform, etc).
