Mounts for goblins
« on: September 20, 2012, 08:10:50 PM »
other than wolves, boars and spiders can anyone come up with a mount for some 28mm goblins, must be something on the market.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

These lovely little guys? They're Harlequin miniatures from Black Tree designs.
There's also giant rats, which seems to suit goblins.

How about bigger goblins, trolls or orcs!  ;)

I do not see why horses, rams, goats or donkeys could not be used....

What style of goblin? A Froud goblin is much different then a standard RPG, LOTR or GW concept.

In many fantasy worlds, the orcs are stand-in for Mongols or similar steppe tribes, so I mounted some of mine on war yaks.

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

I was hoping to find rams but could not find that would work.
years ago Ral Partha did a set of dwarfs on charging rams.
I have been looking at deer, cattle and dogs, I might use ponies if I could find some with the saddle on them.
The goblins in question are Sgt Majors, the old Vendel range.

There is a great goblin bear rider in the Red Box Games Range.

In flintloque, Goblins ride Lizards, or dodos! Depending on when you came into the game and what you prefer (I prefer Lizards myself!).

RAFM makes a pack of Goblins mounted on an Ostrich like bird:

If the're the Vendel orcs, I'd suggest to have a look at the Gripping Beast range. Their huns and the cattle are by the same sculptor I believe. Maybe the Hunnish horses are available seperately if you ask them?

If you already have the goblin riders, Reaper makes an "Axebird, prehistoric terror bird" that looks pretty lethal.

I saw some Schleich dodos in a toy shop the other day, looked well sized for gobbo mounts.
