Vae Victis kindly allowed me to release a pdf english version of my Musketeers variant of Legends of the Old West. It's a lite version without pictures, only the additional rules and the warbands profiles.

The rules adaptation was a really clever Idea! :)

Cheers!

Thanks for posting this, I've had the Vae Victis in which this was published for some time now, but as my knowledge of french is limited to 16th century linguistic texts (isn't everyones?) this will come quite handy when we actually get around to playing the game.

Now I'll just have to check a couple of sections and see if I could figure the french version out correctly :)

I hadn't the Vae Victis (and that's ironic, as I live in France and I can read French), so I've found your rules really interesting. I hope trying them soon!

You can still order it here :

http://vaevictis.histoireetcollections.com/publication-1996-vaevictis-hors-serie-n-8.html

12 pages of rules with gorgeous photos!

By the way in the next special issue ( HS #10 ) there should be an historical campaign for Un Pour Tous!

I've been admiring the Blue Moon Manufacturing range of Musketeer models for a while now and, thanks to your rules, I now I have absolutely no reason not to buy them.  You utter swine :)

Read it, and like it a lot  8)

Probably going to use it, but at the moment I'm struggling with zombies/survivors, pirates, and filling the gaps in some LotR Battle Companies after a few clashes....
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Thanks very much, Olivier! I've downloaded it and will give it a look.

The local game stores used to carry Vae Victus, but they've stopped for some reason.

edit: I really like the stats of Panache and Faith! I also appreciate that you spelled out the political history of the musketeer era - a lot of people need that background, even if they've read Dumas!

SgtPerry,
Thanks, a very good site with lots of inspiration.

2 speciality questions:

1.- which commercial buildings you recommend for a town like Paris (I need some about 4)

2.- since I am not familiar with French Geography, can you point out for me the number of the cassini map showing La Rochelle?

Thanks a lot

1. At the time 17th century, the existing buildings were built with half-timbered walls. Only the nobles'palaces in and around the city walls ( Charles VII's belt ) were in stone.

Unfortunately, they have nearly disappeared now. However they still existed in many cities and town of France ( Tours (50) Angers(<50), Rouen(200) and Bourges (>400)).

So it gives you a large choice of buildings from various manufacturers ( Mine are Pardulon's ones).

2. Cassini's card for La Rochelle is the #101

Here are the summary and the front cover of the next special issue of VaeVictis. By the way, VaeVictis - Armées Miniatures becomes a quarterly magazine.

Not too useful, really - we were in Paris just over a week ago and I realized that I couldn't really understand a thing - including restaurant menus!
