The basic structure is now completed, including details on walls and ceilings. The various assembly groups are still separate, so I can reach everything with the brush.

Ceilings, primed and ready for painting.

Started painting the rooms and corridors, and also started painting some interior bits. Haven't settled entirely on what to do with the other room - most probably, it will become a heroin kitchen (apparently the recreative substance of choice among the denizens...)

Staircase, still in flour bomb status (please note that the model was hit, too ;))

New antennas, much better this time. I found out that the Evergreen rods are made from polystyrene and can thus be easily glued with plastic glue instead of superglue. So I glued lots of 8 mm pieces of rod onto strips of plasticard, and superglued these to toothpicks. Cables are made from solder again.

Jack, I had intended to use the airbrush, but settled for old-fashioned brush-work, mainly because I was too lazy to sort out the compressor :)

Some more progress - revisited the facades, and built some of those cages which are so prevalent in the pictures of the real thing. Polystyrene strips, about 600 holes, and several metres of floral wire were used. It also cost me a good portion of my sanity, and about ten years of my life. Mrs Zafarelli has already done some washing to populate them. Cardboard boxes and all kinds of other stuff will complete these.

Cages in the construction stage:

Cages temporarily attached with putty:

Different view. Also visible are the TV arials, now primed and attached to the roof. Cabling is done with solder (which is rapidly becoming one of my favourite scratchbuilding materials). As soon as the facades are completed, the cables will continue down the facades, and end in the windows.

This is turning out so very beatiful! :-*
Its a pity that we can't find the funds for august :(

And I'm with you on the drilling thingy. It feels such a good idea when you plan to do it, but when you've passed hole 10 and know that you have about 50 left, you tend to get suicidal lol
