Cracking stuff! From the photos I've seen isn't it meant to be a bit wonky looking? :D

Duncan, it seems I'm building my version the same way as the original thing - making up things as I go :) Besides, my crappy Proxxon circular saw won't cut anything parallel within reasonable limits, so wonky it has to be :?

Layout of the first three floors is more or less complete, though still most things are not glued together. I made a calculating mistake and had to lower the walls by 3 mm. This means that the cast cables would make the ceiling too low, so I can't use them. But they look a bit chunky anyway, so I'll go with something scratchbuilt instead. Maybe I can find another use for the cast parts in a different part of the building.

Amazing project  :o So glad of finding this. Maybe you can still use the cablings in the cellar/underground floor? (you are making one, right? ;) ) Would give it more claustrophobic feeling that way.

Looking good. Would the cables work running along the ground in the corner. Heat them up a little to reshape them

I wouldn't be too worried about the staircases not lining up... it looks f***ing amazing!

Girl's got rhythm!

This is very much how I wanted to do a bunker scenario once. Only more fiddly of course.  lol

Pipe parts mocked up in one of the corridors, again only using putty. There are 15 parts all in all, which should yield a good variety of different tangles. The clamps also leave a bit of space between wall/ceiling and pipe, so cables can be drawn through the gaps. Will look much better than the original cast bundles of tubes, I think.

Beefcake, that would be an option. Thanks for the suggestion.

Looking great Jens!

And you might be able to use the cables on the outside of the buildings? While I haven't been to Hak Nam, my previous encounters with third worldish establishements (England, Tunisia), there's a love for putting stuff that's dangerous on the outside. Such as piping, and electric cables...

They work well. Add cabling to them and you're on the right track. Are they just pieces of plastic tubing or have you worked a little magic with them?

Skander, on the pictures of the real thing, there are quite a lot of tv cables dangling in front of the buildings, but nothing so massive. I guess the cellar would be the right place to use the cast bundles, if at all.

Duncan, I have used 2 mm polystyre rod for the pipes, tin foil for the clamps, and 3 mm polystyrene pipe for the fittings, sanded to shape. Each pipe piece has one fitting so they can easily be combined, but that's it. No magic involved :)

Jens, I really like piping! :-*
Will it appear in your store later on (I'm a bit lazy to do it myself, and I know I'll fuck it up at some point and just throw it out the window)?
And do you do small wheels and such for doors, pressure and other stuff (Can't find the right word at the moment).
