15mm French MG's and 75mm guns
« on: September 29, 2012, 09:43:45 PM »
Not sure if this is technically the right place, but here goes...

So that lads over at the TBC started on something like an AK-47 campaign.

I decided to build an army... using Old Glory 15mm, mostly Japanese (Russo-Japanese & Boxer Rebellion) as Mexican Revolution Federales.

Seems to be working so far.
Russo-Japanese infantry for the 'BEF Style Cap.' (Just pretend the puttees don't exist)
Boxer Rebellion Japanese horse & artillery. (Again, ignore the puttees)
US Boxer Rebellion infantry & artillery for 'Carranzista style' uniforms.
US Boxer Rebellion cavalry & Boer infantry, with some sombreros added, as Villistas.

But I need Hotchkiss machine guns and W.W.I French 75mm guns.

Flames of War has a box of Tirailleur MG's where I could putty over the helmets.  Does anyone else make Hotchkiss MG crews, not in the French overcoat?

Flames of War also makes a W.W.II 75mm gun, but it has 'modern' wheels.

Any suggestions?

Not my area of knowledge but I'd check Old Glory's WWI sets, Irregular miniatures almost certainly has something, and Freikorp/QRF.  Then there is Minifigs as a maybe.  Between those options you should find something suitable.

Say,

1.) Is this the commissar who's a provisional Bengali?

2.) It started out as a 'conventional' AK-47 campaign.  But I wanted to build Federales.  So I did.  New-Robert has, somewhere, an AK-47 flow chart for the Mexican revolution.  And I thought that it couldn't hurt to start building the armies, in 15mm, that we'll eventually need for the Wild West 'big battles.'

Always good to have a plan,

Ah,

Then you need to get onto the TBC chat group, and bung off an email to "New Robert" asking about the AK-47 stuff that he had for La Gran Revolucion.
