The Mob of Bugsy Malarchy
« on: 09 March 2008, 06:54:19 PM »
This week I've been able to paint these gangsters from Pulp Figures:

Danny Triviani: the smart one. Vallejo Leather Brown, highlighted with white

Luca Torelli, alias "Torpedo". Vallejo beasty brown with a brown ink wash and highlighted with flesh.

Bugsy Malarchy: the boss. Vallejo German Grey, Cold Grey and Fortress Grey

Tommy "Body Count" Jones, the trigger-happy one. Scorched Brown highlighted with Vomit Brown.

Patrick O'Hara, the Irishman. Olive green highlighted with Soviet green.

The Corpse, the vigilante of Pulp City, has a new menace to fight!

Very nice, I especially like the colours and how they blend with each other as a whole. Nice touch listing them also. If you listed them without the pics they would sound very dull and drab but with they are earthy and have a real touch of realism.

The labrat is good too.

Keyan:

Really nice painting with subtle colors.  My colors always turn out too bright, so I really appreciate painters who can master rich browns, dull greens, and greyed blues.  The colors look natural, but not muddy--a difficult feat!

So what pulp rules are you using them with?

.45 Adventures, of course

And thanks for your comments. I learned a lot using the tutorials in Battle Games in Middle Earth (yes, from the Evil Empire) about painting browns.

Very nice KeyanSark.  I especially like the Irishman.  I'm definately in agreement on the above compliments on your use of browns.   :)

Excellent stuff, KS! Your painting style passes the "photo enlargement" test with flying colours

Yet another period I'd love to try but have no hope of finding time for :(

Yes, the paintjob is (as others allready mentioned) very nice!  8)
I realy like the colours you have chosen for the models. Everyone looks individual but still as a member of the group. that`s cool!

Hi. I rescue this old topic because my mob has found a beautiful new car.

It is a 1939 Rosengart, Die-Cast at 1:43 scale. I bought it in a newspapers stand by 10 €, belonging to a collection of Classic Cars edited by a spanish editorial called Altaya (just in case you want to search for some)

The scale is not too adequate, but I think it is really good for pulp games. And no painting required!

Nice car. Though I can't see hoodlums driving a white vehicle. You just may need to repaint it.  lol
