crisp as ever  :-*
Cracking  :D
Yep. This is going to be a damned good thread...

Thanks guys

Nicey nicely sir!

(Games room is almost done so I'll be in contact with you and Bagshot soon).

The Commander

Cheers, with my last few weeks of winning my golden demon and the warhammer world guest display i had forgotten about it :D  look forward to it though pal.

You know, i think i will enjoy it a lot! =)

One hope you will, it gives me a chance to get some painting done whilst i work on a massive secret side project as well :)

Lovely.  :-*

Cheers pal.

Great as always  8)

Although I'm a smidge disappointed that you painted the chainsaw housing with black and yellow. I thought you might have gone with something a little less cheesy  :D

And as an edit peice of text, I really can't wait to see what you can do for whatever tanks you're having  8)

cheers

James

Thanks pal, the hazard markings are in tribute to a friend of mine who's nickname is "Hazard Man" who plays iron warriors as well as Death Korps of Kreig and inspired me to fork out the silly money for the models....once i got them no regrets at all.  It is also going to be display army that will make it's way to Warhammer World hall of heros sometime towards the end of next year so little bits of cheese like that are acceptable in my mind :)

Tank wise, 2 leman russ executioners (plasma ones - giving me some nice opportunity for painterly goodness) and then 2 vendettas.  So we have a nice Mechanised Infantry with close airsupport.  That is the army for the time being, no doubt I will add further to it.

Shiny!  :-*

Cheers pal

Nice!
 :-*

How big is the army going to be?

Or more like: What are you PLANNING to do, as we all know that it will just keep growing!
 ;)

1000 points for now pal, 1 Command HQ, 2 10 man vet squads, 2 Vendettas and 2 Leman Russ Executioners, I will no doubt add a little more in time.  Maybe an infantry platoon for holding the line while the more elite infantry pushes the flanks but we will see......

Brilliant!
I love these cassic models :-*
How long did it take you to paint a single model?

Thanks pal, about 2 hours to paint that however there was a lot of working out of colours and what was what, which I will not have to do on any future models I will just be able to paint them in a production line and possible cut the time down to 1.5 - 1 hour

Has anyone told you that you can paint? :D

I also like FW stuff, but not so much of GW. I will be watching the progression of this !

haha thanks pal.  Yes they have, the praise helps keep the motivation right up there but it's not the reason I paint at all infact I am not that keen on the limelight truth be told, going up on stage to pick up my Demon a few weeks ago was the most terrifying moment of my life; and I was once chased by an angry vietnamese man with a meat cleaver.  I have a need to create that is fulfilled by painting and sculpting without it there would be a massive hole in my life and I post my work to try and share that joy  :)

Good stuff. This has actually got me going on me orks army.

Thanks pal, happy to have provided motivation :D

Little teaser for the nosecone art on the 2 vendettas

variations on these two.

As the 101st are from Helsreach Hive is seemed appropriate to have Hels' Belle on one. And thanks for Col Bagshot for this one

I would say that the yellow and black on weapons and other parts of equipment very much so goes very well with the 40K lore / imagery :-P

I liked the Dantes In Panties nose art proposal!  ;D

...And wow, 2 hours? And that's slow for you? Honestly, I find that painting at that level at that speed much more impressive than just painting at that level on it's own! Sir, you amaze me and fill me with awe. :o

Oh yeah, and as a Necromunda fan, I approve of the hazard stripes - lovely!  ;)

it's all about practice pal, more you paint the more dexterous your fingers become the faster you become the faster you become the more you paint and so on.  It's also sort of nice to be able to do what I consider a tabletop quality (although that may come across a little arogant it is not intended to be, although I intend to do this as a displays army I am also using this project to practice things such as freehand, colour modulation for more important competition pieces)

Not arrogant at all, don't worry! I try and paint to the top of my ability in order to improve, and so generally my interpretation of "tabletop standard" is considerably higher when I'm considering my own work than when I regard other people's work.

Clearly though, I need to practice a lot more to get my (embarrassing and glacially slow) painting time down...  :P

I really like these painted as Steel Legion instead of Death Korps.  In fact, I think I prefer them this way.  Great work on the painting.

Congratulations on the Daemon win.  That giant is an awesome piece of work.

Check out this site for some great pinup art:
