Could this work for the Gilman House?
« on: October 09, 2012, 02:46:13 AM »
I know it is a bit small but I was thinking this might work.  I obviously cant have a full scale hotel, but if weathered properly with a courtyard on the back would it be acceptable.
Sorry you have to follow the link.

I'm no architect, but imagine the style of the building would look fine.

I'm not sure, but I remember seeing some scale shots of this model before and it looked a pretty small for 28mm.

I'll have to try to remember where I saw it.  ;D

I think it's a little small as well.  I don't usually make interiors.  I love Plasticvile kits.  It would probably fit my other models.

Yeah, I have some Plasticville myself. I remember seeing a lot of yours in your posts and they all look great. I just remember this one being way to small.

EDIT: I've been searching frantically, but I can't seem to find the photo.

Now I'm starting to doubt myself.

I found this photo next to some other Plasticville buildings. Maybe it helps.

Ouch, I have the 5 and 10.  It looks a bit small.  Hmmmm.  What about Obed Marsh's colonial house? :?

Now I'm checking.  The colonial would be around 9 inches long and 6 inches high.
hmm.

Can you buy two of those and link them together somehow to create a larger building?

I'll probably just leave it, although the colonial mansion would make a great Marsh house.  I play on a small table anyways.   Thanks for your help Aggro.

Sometimes a building with a smaller footprice is better.
If you have a smaller table, use the smaller one.
I find that most of the times my figures are outside the buildings,
trying to get away from what ever is after them.
Who makes the Bowery Hotel?
Semper Fi, Mac

It's under new management, it's the Gilman house now. ;)

It's from Lionelville.  It was actually a pharmacy.  There is also a restaurant and a newspaper office.  They are a little fancy.  Apparently they were designed to add floors to make them taller.  I have seen a few on ebay but I bought this one from a friend of mine.

Be warned though, they have no detail on the back.  I had to build my own using brick sheets.
