ECW ranges compatiblity

as you may have noticed I've been maing the most of the Warlord ECW plastics and other bits, but need to diversify a little bit... I have picked up some renegade, but a few are enormous compared to the Warlord minis (which themselves are very varied in height)... I don't mind a bit of variety, but it does have it's limits... so, which ranges would be best to pick for other bits and pieces to go along with my other bits...

Perry?
Foundry?
Renegade?

There is nothing wrong with the 'no's at all in fact there are some lovely figures in there. Its just that they are just too big when compared with the others.

There should be more than enough quality and variety among the 'yes' to satisfy you.

I second that opinion.

No warlord (or Horky Boehemian troops) in the mix as I didn't have any yet at the time, but this might still be of some use:

which might give you a few pointers. With Warlord, I've found Redoubt fit seamlessly, but all the others I've tried are significantly different: Renegade much larger; TAG and (especially) Perry, much smaller.

The catalogues on the site are now pdf and the drawings in them are accurate in my experience but you are right it could do with a big update

L-to-R TAG, Warlord plastic, Bicorne, Renegade.
I don't actually think the Warlord plastic figure is that much smaller than the Bicorne / Renegade sculpts.
The new Empress figures (very lovely) are about the same height as Bicorne and Renegade, but rather more willowly.
Redoubt are also very tall. They have some nice figures hidden amongst a huge range which you can't get photos of on their website (yes, in 2012)

Perry (and the Perry sculpted Foundry range) are titchy in the extreme. They don't really go with anything.

Warlord plastics I'm afraid I dislike a lot. Some of their metals are really rather good - some of them are a bit duff. And yes, they're all over the place size-wise. They do however do a pack of clubmen which are rather good.

For clubmen, I also favour a few of the Bicorne artillerymen with staves and farm implements instead of rammers and so on. There are a few like this in my LAF ECW gallery...
