A little approach to a "Temple Assault Squad" (SOTR)
« on: October 23, 2012, 10:43:08 AM »
Hi everyone, last week I finished to build a Temple Assault Squad for Secrets of the Third Reich from 6 Bolt Action plastic commandos.

It was a experiment about how can modified these miniatures, adding WestWind heads, armor, IR googles...

Well, I have ready for play a squad of seven Templars (in Secrets of the Third Reich are 6, but there is one extra to play with the weapon that you can equip: a machine gun "packed" or an anti-tank rifle, both very good options).

You can see more photos if you visit the blog of Freakland scenics , and a small "as they did. "

Really great looking squad! Plus it gives me well needed inspiration to make one myself :)

They look great and prove, without a doubt, that the SotR heads are perfectly compatible.

really nice conversions there, the Temple are one of my favourite alternative SOTR forces, always been tempted to do a Temple themed force, its amazing what things like this can get you started on ! now we just have to wait  for Westwind to release the Mr Smythe mini !

Thank you all for your comments. I would like to apologize about our blog, which is only written in spanish, but we've added a translate button at the top.

@infelix: It is easier do it than thinking it.  ;)

@The Shadow: I'm waiting too for the Mr. Smith, and the flesh golems, and the "in development" pacific supplement.

Great work. The squad could also double as MI-13 Commandos, they have similar weapons and gear.

Good stuff. If your looking for a flesh golem check out Blackball games AE-WW2 models. There is a british golem that looks like the one from the SOTR artwork.

The terrain its our "tundra-table":

@Bubbles, I've taken a look the AE-WW2 models, but ¿there is any notice about if Blackball will expand the miniatures range?

Yea I actually sent them a message a while back. They're gonna finish doing any miniatures that a left in the books that haven't been released and they will continue doing expansions and stuff. The owner of blackball games actually worked on the game and so I don't think he's going to let it die any time soon. He went through the trouble of acquiring it after all.

It's a good new. I really like the range of AE-WWII, but for british troops it is small.

It is indeed. Perhaps you should send an email to blackball games and get a newer response as my email was when I first heard that AE-WW2 was switching hands.
