Erm... I suspect you're not getting an answer because most people have either 15mm or 28mm or 20mm stuff here, not 1/35th.

As for the measurements- there are plenty of sites that have the measurements of the vehicles and drawings, which you can use to get all the dimensions you need.

I'm aware its mostly wargaming sizes, but I had hoped wargamers build models.

And I don't see how that site helps sorry, the pictures are nice but don't mean a thing measurement wise to me, and I have no idea how to convert real world sizes to 1/35

But then I seem to be plagued in a lack of interest in things I post, I still remember when I posted my dutch napoleonics and after 23 views I was pushed to page 2 of the painting section, it was funny seeing the view number triple AFTER deletion

Measure the drawing.
Divide the real measurement by the same measurement (so look up the width in the data, then measure the width on the drawing) --- (measurement on drawing)/(real measurement).
Divide this number by 35.
Write this number down.

Measure anything on the drawing and multiply this by the number you wrote down to get the scale measurement you want. Works for any measurements on the drawings.

What do you think 1/35 is???  One 35th of actual.
Simply divide real measurements by 35.  You can even use a calculator.

Divide the real 640cm by the 8cm
So its 80cm long divide by 35
2.2cm?

Dimensions drawn from Wikipedia (just as an example )
Divide the metres column by 35 and the result is a mm measurement.

I Should have a Dragon Panther someplace but it's still in the box and unassembled... I guess it's true most gamers aren't really into 1/35 modeling because there's just so little game utility? You might as well be doing something 'useful', and paint something that you can use in game while you're at it. Plus the big models cost a few bob these days, don't they?

Like has been said, your best bet is to google som some scale drawings, schematics, blue prints, or whatever the correct term is, and measuring them. It's a bit more of a hassle to calculate, but once you get going, it should become routine. Or you could use one of those scale ruler thingies (sorry don't know the proper English name for them?)

Besides, even if models are getting extremely high quality these days, there's always some that aren't exactly to the scale. Even those model masters make errors with these things? So using blue prints is recommended for that reason as well. I assume you're already familiar with the site Missing-Lynx.com? If not, check it out, it's a heaven for military modellers.

I agree with you that there can be a bias sometimes on this forum towards certain things, but that is similar to other forums where you have a core group into one scale or another. I visit various forums for different things. For what you are after I would suggest you have a look at Missing-Lynx, which is more AFV related.

PS And in 1/35th scale I think the only game in town for the Panzer I is the Dragon kit. I don't think Tamiya do one.
