« on: November 06, 2012, 08:06:41 PM »
EDIT: I've converted this from a Cemetery WIP Thread to a WIP thread for all my SA and Horror Gaming

I've finally got around to getting my long desired Cemetery underway, based on GW's Garden of Morr.
I have a bunch of WIP pictures at my Blog here - I would appreciate your suggestions and comments

thanks!

Awesome work.  There are a lot of skulls but it doesn't take away from the paint job.

Very nice. How did you achieve that green effect on the stonework?

This looks spot on, the green roof works well.
I have trouble nit picking this but since you asked  ;D the muddy floor bits round the edge could do with a bit of sprucing up. A light dry rush in bone perhaps and some static grass/ flowers/ foliage type thing.

I'd love to have it on my table as is tho. Good work.

Looks great, I have also very recently finished my Garden of Morr. I did also fight with the skulls, a battle which I did knew i could not win, but removed what i could.

Great work.
I too have not liked all the skulls.
Some good ideas on how to hide some of them.

great work Tas!

I like the brownish color on the stones. Many paint the walls etc. just with shades of grey and it's ok but a little boring. You've use washes also? The shading works also and the highlights are spot on. The thing I like the most is the roof and it's color. Could you tell how you painted it?

Thanks all! Most appreciated.

Bergh - that looks superb.  It looks like you used two set of the Garden of Morr to get that size? It is a little crowded as is.  I love the little Cthulhu statuette on top of the gate, I might have to nick that idea!  I also like your toppled/haphazard gravestones, mine look a bit too regular I think.

Where did you get the "weeping Angel" fig - its awesome!

This looks spot on, the green roof works well.

Quite right Smokezobie - the addition of flocking, ivy and grass tufts is now in progress

I was going for the older lead style effect and break up all that grey.  That was the rationale for the more sandstone look of the statue and coloured masonry on the buildings too.

The effect came from a black undercoat, heavy Vellejo Yellow Olive drybrush, a Devlan Mud wash and some lightly applied streak effects with Vellejo Yellow Green

great work Tas!

I totally agree with you - too much grey washes everything out and that not what even the most boring place really looks like.  After doing all my grey highlights I added a very heavy Devlan Mud wash to give it that browny 'used' tinge

Can't Wait. Hope you get some idea from my picture.
I actually just emptied one of those bit stores on the net, they where selling the wall and fence parts ridicules cheap, got some left overs even, i can make something with later.

The Angel is a "doctor Who" rubber-plastic miniature, you can get them rather cheap on ebay, thats where I got mine, it does not have good details, but works as a statue, and its actually quite hard to find angelic miniatures, if anyone know where to buy them, im interested.

That graveyard looks great, Tas!
 :-*

I may well have to get myself some more graveyard type bits in the future to have a complete table.
Those Renedra stones have been eyed up for a while.

Love your table too, Bergh.
 :-*

I have used some of those Weeping Angels on my own Shrine piece.

More of it here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=39808.30

I have a few of the pointing Angels left over.
If anyone wants some, send me a PM.....

The renedra grave stone pack is great, tho I found them a little flat on the back, even so I picked up two packs :D you can never have enough gravestones. Tho I guess in real life having one grave stone is one more than I'd like  ;)
