A nice and unusual addition to the range, if Mark is back in BoB mode perhaps we may see some officers for the White cavalry.

I wouldn't hold my breath for white officers, though : Mark designs what he feels like doing and when he feels like doing it.

In case anyone's interested, the figures are obviously based on figure F2 in Osprey MAA 463 (Chinese Warlord Armies 1911-1930).

And a bodyguard unit for Chang Tsung-Chang the "Dog-meat General", who made extensive use of White Russian mercenaries apparantly, & which may explain the dao-dao fighting sword. I hope the model has sword/rifle etc options

And Gurkha command! And Gurkhas with kukris at ready!

(We ran into some Gurkha gentlemen promoting Remembrance Day Thursday before BLAM. I took it as a very good  sign)

Have you tried 'Woodbine'?

I completely missed they are doing Gurkhas now. Great news!

I'd still like to see some from Copplestone.

...having worked out that I could cobble them together from other Copplestone pieces from different packs, and make some pieces myself/greenstuff, I asked if they’d do me a deal on the pieces. Instead he offered to make them.

So, if they sell well, he might be open to some more suggestions of cool BoB stuff, he says crossing all digits.
I have asked directly previously if he'd sculpt on commission and the answer was NO.
So, it really does come back to what funky stuff we can suggest that'll grab his attention and inspire him to sculpt stuff AFAIK.

I've done an order of these lancers, I suspect the da Bao is a separate item like the Dare to Die troops come with separate pieces. I certainly plan on converting a few to having mosin-nagant rifles slung on their backs. Or even have a third unit with BOTH.

Shame about the 'do or die' sword accross their backs, otherwise they could have done service in a few locations.

I asked the question, and the swords are separate items. So ideal for conversion, and I certainly plan some with Mosin-Nagant rifles/ A N Other items instead to make different units.  :)

Giles.

Good to know! Will have to pencil some of these onto The List for eventual addition to my BoB/RCW forces. They could presumably even do double-duty as RCW Whites and BoB/Chinese Civil War mercenaries.

No longer jealous-mine were ordered 11/11 and arrived today.  I forgot that Mr. Copplestone seems to employ some sort of time warp for shipping.  As Ignatieff stated, nice sculpts-can't wait to get them painted.
