Scored balsa sheets for the walls, balsa strips for the frames. A bit more work got done tonight the deck was extended and then framed with more balsa strips to give it the look of a platform that wouldn't flood with every ripple on the river. I'll be adding a hand rail and a water tank stand tomorrow night if I find time. Then it get's a detachable tin roof, furniture and fittings etc.
Plan is to get a bit of multi use out of this one it will be demounable from the river base so I can plonk it on a table or even on stilts. I'll be making a slightly more rustic version next.
I reckon I can find suitable beads to make the ever present gas bottle. Hammocks I think I can fashion out of lead foil and thread but the one thing that has me stumped is the water tank. By far the most popular, indeed ubiquitous model is the plastic Fortlev brand, you see these everywhere. Bugger of a shape. I need something to mount either on the roof or a tank stand towards the rear of the house. Any ideas chaps?
