~Twisted Fate~....thoughts?
« on: 03 December 2012, 12:49:38 PM »
As I was a late-comer to the whole thing, I don't have the cards, but I am considering printing them onto some plasticard or formatting them for printing at Artscow.com or SuperiorPOD.com onto playing cards.

Is it worth it? Does anyone play with them regularly, and if so, how would you describe the gameplay change?

I know Anatoli here had played some games with the cards and it added some interesting elements. I thought about printing them out and having them laminated to try out in the future. Someone was selling a deck not long ago but wanted way more than I would have been willing to pay.

I have sheets of plasticard (Plastruct 0.020") here and I figure I'll probably just print the sheets onto sticker paper, adhere the card sheets to the plasticard, then cut them to size using my paper-cutter and finally round the edges with a chit clipper I have around here somewhere. I'd be in the project for an hour's time and maybe 5$.

Seems like a good tradeoff!

Black Cavalier and I played a few games on Friday and used the deck. It is a powerful thing. Being able to totally deny a Sub machine gunner his fully automatic fun for the length of the game can be infuriating.

Guess I'm one of the lucky few with the original plastic ones. They're lots of fun to use...for both the Threshold and the Lurker player. The effects can be extremely powerful, but sometimes it can give you an important edge against dangerous stuff like Werewolves.

In the end they're fun and that's what's the game's about :)

I was going to print them off and put the paper into card sleeves as a quick solution
But the lovely cards in the latest Shocking Tales have me wanting something better...

Especially when I never got one of those cards & you played it on my twice.

The cards did make some very nice narrative moments.

At 1st I thought about maybe changing from drawing a new card every turn to rolling a die each turn to see if you draw a card.  But the cards are powerful enough that the opponent needs to have the opportunity to have their own cards to counter them.

Don’t try to forget them, the Daleks are waiting
Quietly planning and scheming and hating…
