Zimmerit
« on: December 10, 2012, 01:59:44 PM »
I am planning on painting a Stug when I get in from work tonight but it's clad in zimmerit. I have no idea what this looks like painted and my google skills have only thrown up black and white photos. If anyone can help out with some colour pics or painted miniatures that would be great!

I'd suggest going on a modelling forum for 1:35 etc scale AFV's. There'll be some great inspiration there  :)

cheers

Ah, that brings back the joys of applying Milliput Zimmerit to Tamiya Panzers as a youth. Tiresome, painstaking, but very satisfying.

And then when 40K first rolled around a few years later blasphemously "Orking" them up for tabletop gaming. Don't you know Brummbärs and StuGs fight better when painted blood red and covered in spikes, banners and human skulls? lol

Thanks for all your help guys, I think I shall leave the German stuff until last! Soviet armour looks a little easier to paint!
