Shinsengumi *Finished with MUCH better photos*
« on: December 14, 2012, 08:58:30 AM »
Through the power of modern technology I'm posting this whilst on the train to work. Unfortunately, the pictures are shit and the figure needs matt varnish and the base finishing but I was actually quite excited that I got him done.

As a precursor to having my range of Edo period figures made (the first of which is hopefully being done) I painted a Perry unarmoured samurai in the 'official colours of the Shinsengumi, they were a kind of police force around the 1860's in Kyoto, there were also other clans of police but these are the most well known.

Hopefully more to come from the Perry figures until the range has been cast  :)

cheers

James

Thanks for the kind comments chaps, looking at it on the big screen (work now) it's a shockingly bad photo. Shame as I'm really pleased with the figure  ::)

I'll take a proper one over the weekend  :)

Great job Bibbly Sama  8)

Ain't that an excellent figure, one of my favourite Perry samurai  :-*
Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.

yes, it's a blessing and a curse :)

Especially on a rather full train (being 6'5" is no help on public transport  lol ).

Thanks Bugs, hopefully these new photos will show it in a better light.

Much better photos now  ::) :D

Got a couple of others based up ready to go and who knows, maybe in the new year I might get a small game with them using my Salute boards  :D

cheers

We're going to be using Sharp Practise, works great for Tex Mex so a little modding for the different melee weapons and it should be good to go. The skin was done with Foundry Oriental Flesh, as long as its on a really dark undercoat it works rather well.
