Old Glory Stagecoach - how to put it together
« on: December 21, 2012, 03:24:42 PM »
I have received my 28mm model finally but I'm rather dismayed to find ZERO in the way of instruction!  I'd appreciate it if anyone has figured thirs out and could post a close up picture of the spring works /underside.

Many thanks.

Don't have one - but you could always google actual stagecoaches, and likely get a pretty good idea.

My eternal thanks great emir!

Perhaps you'd be so kind as to post the pictures here for all to benefit from?

Superb.  Actually I THINK I have it nearly beat.  I'll put my pics up too for comparison.  It ill be useful for anyone else thinking of buying one so please do put yours up as well.

Edit:  In fact, here's my attempt at it.

I think the hardest part is trying to glue in the springs whilst balancing the whole VERY HEAVY carriage in the planked chasis.  I decided to replace the small round connector with an equal depth piece of timber.  Neither would be there in reality of course, but it will be inconspicuous when painted and this is built now more to be able to handle and play with, rather than cringe every time it's picked up!!!!

A little optical illusion to make it look bigger, I added a larger chest to the roof to bulk it up / higher.   I also mounted the wagon on 2mm plastcard on top of my base plate before sanding it.  This gets around the fact the horses are effectively already stood on one themselves.   It will also neutralise the effect of any cowboys stood next to it on their own bases.
