Parade time - wars of the Roses (even more)
« on: December 24, 2012, 09:41:41 AM »
I thought it was about time to get out my Wars of the Roses figures and see where i was standing.
So far, i have about 160, about a third not painted, with another 102 painting for assembly. I was inspired by Captain Blood and Silent Invader, and their games. I thought 'it would be so great to play a game that big'. Then i read 'about 200 figures on the table'; i have that myself! So one day maybe...

Anyway, here are the troops:
Henry Stafford's men

Warwick's retainers

The red and green of Hanbury

French looking for a scrap

Angry German pikemen

The Danes

A bunch of men with no badges

now the unpainted stuff...
Militia of Burton-upon-Trent

Waiting for paint

And to finish off, my two leader for new retinues, first Richard Maston

And Nicolas Walker

Group shot!

Happy Christmas to all!

Nice collection there Max! I'm actually a Staffordshire ex-pat and used to drink in, amongst others, 'The Knot'.  ;)

Grand. And will look even grander when those last few are done too. I hope you'll post an update then.

Well if this is going to be a WOTR pub thread, I still do occasionally drink in the Cross.

There defienatly will be one, any even!

Feel free. I actually shamefully copied one of Silent Invaders the other day  ::)

The Mostons will be in green and black, with the badge as a head of wheat (or a flower, can't really tell it's so small). The Walker's badge will be a stag's head, and maybe a sort of brown for colours as i'm running out of nice ideas. Perhaps with a stripe across the chest  ???
