New Riverside -- with Dock
« on: 25 December 2012, 04:58:32 AM »
I started a new terrian project tonight. I’ve been wanting to make a couple more tiles to use for a riverside and such…

Fantastic! Riverside or the beginning of a Perilous Lagoon??

Great work as always. One day you will have to teach me all your tricks.

Looking good, as ALWAYS with your scenery.

Thanks for sharing.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

I know it's not part of the project, but man, do I ever love that little steam launch!

Agreed! It was a big inspiration for doing this project.  ;)

Today I decided to make a couple more flat tiles while I was making the riversides. So I got those put together and a second cover of goo on everything today…

I still have quite a bit of painting to do, but I’m happy with how its going…

And by switching out the bottom tiles, the “riversides” make passable hillsides as well…

THANKS!

That is really clever, turning the river into a hill.

Looks fantastic. I couldn't get the scale of the sections with the first pics.
How are you going to do the water? Cellophane?
I only wish I could make terrain like that. For me terrain making is a major effort. It just doesn't come easy for me.

Great work...although I looked at the first pic and thought how weird, a river on the hillside  ;)

I got a bit more done today...

I splattered the tiles with some wood filler and flattened it all out with a trowel.

After about an hour later, I washed the whole thing with a thinned coat of paint, and that looks like this (above and below)...

Lastly, I did a bit a dry-brushing. Lightly all over and a little heavier around the rocky areas..

Still more to do, but that's enough for today............

THANKS!

Dave

That's really good! Is the steam launch scratch built and do you have any bigger pics of the dino?

I love how the relatively simple techniques bring this all together. Can't wait to see the water.
