Deus Vult would be fine for large battles of the Barons War.

 If you are looking for skirmishes you may have a look at my modification to Legends of the Old West for 12th-13th centuries.

I was about to mention Sgt Perry's LOTOW variants. They should fit the bill. Then noticed he had posted his link already. lol

I think we might be giving them a try with our Robin Hood games, which are running In the same period as the Barons Wars, so along similar lines to your project. We will definitely be having a siege as long as JimBibbly finishes the castle. ;)

Great stuff, thank you gents. I'll definitely give the LoTOW variant a look as I'm familiar with the basic rules.

Some source material arrived today, so a bit of reading to be done.  ;)

LotR would be a runner too. Had a game yesterday and had forgotten what a great system it is to recreate heroic drama on the wargames table :)
