Khurasan Iguana
« on: 29 January 2013, 11:53:34 AM »
Now I start with a new Paint-job for Khurasan. The Iguana is in 15mm scale! And I love the miniature! The chassis can build in 3 different high levels and I user the middle position.

Current steps:
1. cleaning with 1lcohol and airbrush cleaner.
2. gluing all parts together (except the wheels)
3. prime coating (2x) with "vallejo Acrylic-Poliurethan Primer" (airbrush)

That's a sweet ride!  My space colony just got its new transport.  Eager to see what paint scheme you use.  :)

Looks great so far, kunzomat!

By the way guys this is the Iguana, a militarized version of the basic Horizon Rough Terrain Transport.  The Horizon is a civilian vehicle that is either unarmed or, in its police version, lightly armed.  It does not have the hardened front fuselage.

The Iquana on the other hand is for military forces operating without grav equipment in very rough terrain.  It swaps the front of the Horizon for an armoured front fuselage, and does not have the heavy turret on top.

Kunzomat, not sure if I mentioned this, but you can probably see the join line on the front of the vehicle, where the front fuselage is attached.  This is meant to show that the vehicle has the swappable front fuselage, and you could always paint the line black rubber - similar to how an airplane boarding bridge attaches to a jet:

It's the Horizon I'm desperate for. I've been coveting one or two ever since I saw the original render. I was even on the Khurasan blog this morning trying to find the original CG image. And now, here's the Iguana on LAF!

It's meant to be methinks… :D

Take off the guns, and flatten the front and you have the scout vehicle from ALIENS (seen in the director's cut only).  Love it!

Or take out the gun, and you have a mobile home (ok add a fridge unit?)/vehicle for Judge Dredd? Is it 15mm or 28mm?
