Scroll past the 18th century civilians on this blog posting, and you'll find a detailed discussion about the new Empress Miniatures naval landing party of the 1840s in their New Zealand Wars range:

Lovely work! I enjoyed talking to you about them on the other board!

I wonder if Empress will make officers and a deck crew. It would be fun to deploy them from a stern- or side-wheeler gunboat.

Fantastic job.

I love the metal texture on the cannon barrel.  :-*

Thanks for that.  But the gun barrel was no more complicated than a light silver dry brush over the black undercoat!!!

By the way, any rumours of a further release in this range?  Hint! Hint!

Arteis

Your blog has been an inspiration!

And your paint job is the 'mutts nuts'

The lower deck telegraph suggests there might be something released in May/June ;D

Deck crew for a steamer would be nice. And maybe an officer and midshipman for the shore party.

Opposition? Dyaks, Chinese pirates.....
