Show me your Cultists robes!
« on: February 05, 2013, 09:03:20 PM »
Hi everyone,

I can't figure out what colour my cultists robes are going to have, first I painted them brown, that did not function well so I need a new colour,
I would hate to paint them again, just too strip them a second time.

Could you show me your cultists colour?

EDIT: Spelling error.

[too easy]

Blue, with hints of light blue, grey, white or silver where applicable. It reminds me of silver twilight and fits conveniently to oceanic themes as well. And for unknown reasons, this specific tone has been among my favourite colours since I started painting minis. It's everywhere, even in night-gaunts because dipping stuff in pitch black would be boring...

Can't be bothered to re-shoot these so just spot the cultists among other stuff.

I use either the GW Denab Stone or Bone color, works well once you give it a wash. The key is to decide if you want something to blend or have a sharp contrast against the robes.

I kept mine simple, just a purple with trousers and other clothing picked out, and have not even painted any symbols on them yet....

Hammers: This is getting a little strange: My cult colours are very like yours and we have already noted that our Asylum stuff has a similar flavour..... ???

Am I receiving some kind of radiowave that your miniature collection is transmitting?

Sure, I have them all on Photobucket:

Most of them are towards the bottom. I went with grey/purple for the drab with a slight pop accent in color then the rope like color to contrast against that.

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

That's may be why purple is so popular :

This the way they are painted on Mr Murch Pulp Figure site. And they are so nice like this that it may have hit your subconscious.

I thought everyone was using red as in classic references, Artizan's samples and whatnot...or maybe humble brown...or royal yellow...or shady-business black...or maybe white if you're feeling silly. That was also among the reasons why I picked blue and thought it might be original. Guess not then. :? It's really a worldwide cult.

Ah well, more stylish options here. :)
