Melbourne SOTR Tournament 30/03/13
« on: 17 February 2013, 11:31:28 PM »
This year, the Conquest Easter Games Convention will feature a SOTR tournament!

http://conquest.asn.au/

The above site isn't quite ready yet, but should be open for registration soon.

The event is a SOTR 1949 (1st Edition) three round tournament for 50 RP armies chosen from the Rulebook, Doomsday and/or the Official Polish OOB PDF.

In order to know how many resources to throw at this event, the Convention needs to know how many people we're expecting. If you are unable to register through the AON system, PM me and I'll help sort it out.

Hope to see a few of you there!

'Scuse the ignorance but what is SOTR? Silly Old Twat's Rules? Sounds of Tiny Rodents? The acronym isn't self explanatory enough for me.

Sounds too much like Tony Abbot's election manifesto for me.  :-[

There you go Saxon. Scroll down and click next to the paperclip.

Sorry to confuse you Carlos, but I figured the people who were interested would know what I meant. Also I had to do it in a hurry.  :?

Well, we had the tournament yesterday, with 4 players, we battled over 3 rounds. I took some (pretty poor) pictures;

The final standings were:

1st Mike Goldyn - Soviet Survivors
2nd John McCartney - Soviet Survivors
3rd James Wright (Me) - Latverian (German) Mech Grenadiers
4th Phil Haynes - British Para Commandos

A fun day was had by all, although Russian camouflage caused a few headaches. My moment of the day was blowing up Vasily Zaytsev and an Anti-Mech rifle team in the opening shot of the game.

Nice pics! Curious about the above statement, though. Care to comment upon it?

Simple, Russian Survivor Platoons with Ranger and Camouflage hiding in woods need about a 7 to hit on a D6. It can be a little... infuriating.  >:(

I see, nothing that hand grenades and high explosive can't handle!
