Birdmen of Alcatraz
« on: February 20, 2013, 10:47:35 PM »
Recently I bought and painted some Avian birdmen from C-P Models Miniatures. Actually I wasn't supposed to buy anything new this year (used miniatures are ok though), but when I saw these I just had to buy them.

I don't know if they are actually old-school, but they certainly are different than most stuff released these days.

Here they are:

On the prowl...

Size comparison with Phagon Beastman and RTB01 Space Marine.

They are pretty big miniatures, almost 45mm to the top of their heads. There is only five different poses, but the models come with seperate heads and so you can buy more models and change the heads for more combinations, if you like.

I think they are pretty nice models and  the price can't really be beat! One model £1.80 or all five for £8.00 and the service from C-P Models is fast and reliable.

It is clearly a WiffWaff sculpts, that guy is really churning them out! I had not seen them before C-P Models announced their release though.

I really like lot of WiffWaffs sculpts, and have a small sellection in my collection already.

I am not 100% hooked on the constant use of the Hasslefree guns, but I guess this is the fastest way to do a sculpt. I would rather like to see some strange Bob Olley RT era like guns and pistols.

My inspiration for the paint scheme was various cartoon vultures  lol

Jonas, fantastic they look great, cant believe how quickly you got them painted and posted :)

The necks could easily be shortened by snipping of a couple of neck segments

Andy, Would love to see yours when you have painted them up

Will do! I have a cunning plan for the colour scheme (so cunning you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasel), and they'll make great adversaries for my Victoria Miniatures sci-fi Brits too  :D
