Dystopian Legions Tankettes
« on: 01 March 2013, 06:02:12 PM »
I was thinking of picking up a box of Dystopian Legions tankettes to use with 25mm figures. Can anyone provide a picture of one next to 25 or 28mm figures?

I love all forms of wargaming and model making, provided it is in good taste.

Aren't those the regular Dystopian figures? I've seen where they are alot taller than even GW space marines. I'd like a picture of them next to regular 25mm or 28mm figures (say Pulp Figures or even Foundry).

Hi,

I've already seen some of these figures and they are i think 30mm, they are taller than GW space marines.

Cheers

I've seen comparison pics on the web and seen them in the flesh.  They are closer to 33-35mm.  A real shame... :'(

Given the large size of the Dystopian figures, the tankette looks like it actually will be more in scale with 28mm figures than with Dystopian.

Having seen them in the flesh (so to speak), I would have to agree with you. Even so, they are tiny for tanks. Personally, I like the cannon armed ones better. YMMV.

Hi Mysteriousbill,
pic of the Britannian tankette next to a Foundry Sikh and one of the old plastic WH40K Orks for size comparison.

For clarity: the tankette is the unpainted one, the Sikh is the one with the drum, and the Ork is tha chap with the big - axe.  ;)

I'd buy that as a two man tankette. Thanks that is just what I was looking for. :)

I's a bit of a tight fit for two - not quite the 10 Space Marines in a Rhino category, but tight. You have the option of leaving the metal hatch doors on top (just visible in my pic) open and place someone riding there, although the solid resin body needs some work to avoid having the appearance of half a body riding a solid block of armour - I opted for the hatches closed position. I'd guess it's about the size of a Bren gun carrier, so it could seat two if they're ok with some intimacy.
The good news is that the Dystopian Legions box includes two tankettes, not one.

Just picked up a box myself and they are very small but will work for normal 25mm and 28mm I'm not sure how they work with there own figure range which are to large for my liking and make the tanks look miniature.

it might seem strange to us, but it is perfecly realistic. I once sat in a Chenillette UE

and it felt like a steel suit with tracks - and I was only 10 years old then

Someone bought a box from me at the weekend, and was planning on using them as  Death Korps of Krieg artillery tractors
