PA minis (more added 06/04/2013)
« on: 07 March 2013, 06:29:49 PM »
Wasn't sure where to post these really, here or future wars, but as I've given up on trying to work out how to set a game in Cynosure (from the Grimjack comics) I thought I'd try seting a game/campaign thingie in the world of Scout (another ace comic co-incidently, NOT, also drawn by the genius Tim Truman. So here are a few of the minis I'm thinking of using:

Any comments or criticism are always welcome and a quick thanks to Vern for the Street Violence figs.

Very nice figures.

What kind of game are you trying to set up? Is the issue with rules / mechanics, or trouble find players?

Obsidian, it's a bit of both. Havn't played anything for years and all my old gaming buddies have either moved far far away or don't play anymore. Used to play alot of Necromunda and managed to convert that to expand the rules to give us more options so thinking I might try to do the same if you see what I mean but am severely out of gaming practice.

For post-apocalyptic games on a skirmish scale I'd recommend Mutants and Death Ray Guns from Ganesha Games. The rule book has random generation rules for warbands, but you can download their army builder spreadsheet if you want to do custom ones. I just started stat-ing up my Terminators to drop into a game.

I'm not sure if they'll work for you, but give it a look. I like most of the Ganesha rule sets for speed and simplicity.

Love Scout, one of my favorites! I have some grim jack but have not read it yet. Hail Truman.

Ogryn,
Grimjack is aces, got almost the complete run knocking around at home and have probably read it 10 times over. Truman's art rock (as per usual).
Cheers Not Dead Yet.

Some lovely paintjobs there, Cholly!

Loving all the attention to smaller characterful bits like the trackie stripes and the Doc's hat.
You wield your brush well.

Here are a few more of Mr. C's fab Future Wars  figs, I have kinda given up on worrying about which rules to use and just enjoying painting again. These mini's (and a few more nearing completion) plus the words of encouragement from LAF members and members over at the Post-Apoc Forum have really given me back my painting mojo and (funds allowing) I'll be adding more to my collection ASAP.
