Review of Angry Badger Ramshackle Camp Kit
« on: 09 March 2013, 03:28:11 PM »
Hi, It's time for another wargame review! This time we will take a closer look at the lasercut wooden Ramshackle Camp Kit from the new American company called Angry Badger! Their about us page says the following: "We all know that good terrain can change the game, but we also know that the cost of good terrain has gotten out of control. At Angry Badger we are striving to reach a good cost/quality ratio and provide war gamers with options that don't include going bankrupt or starving. " And to be honest what do we want more? Let's take a look at this amazing terrain set which can be used to recreate Goblin Town or can be used in an whole array of other settings.

For the full review including a comparison with the GW goblin town go to

Cheers!

Looks like a very nice kit, although since it's laser cut, the edges are a bit too uniform for my taste. I'd definitely have to nick them up with a blade and maybe even wrap twine around the joints to make it look a bit more ramshackle. Love the uneven edges and scribing of the planks, though.

Can't beat that price, though. Especially when compared to Games Workshop's outrageous price for the Goblin Town kit.

Hi Skullboy thanks for the comment. The edges on the boards could look better when nicked with a blade but I guess they are so even as a lasercutter can't lasercut diagonally (I think). The price is indeed very good!

I like these better than the GW set.   If for no other reason, you can use these without gluing them which allows much easier storage, and the wood legs seem much sturdier than the GW plastic legs.

Hi, Strange the link stopped working? I had checked him before but now I have added a working link to the initial post. Thanks for letting me know.

This set is indeed GW superior as it's cheaper, easier to storage, isn't filled with skulls and can be used unpainted if you want without looking odd.

Cheers
