Nice looking ships :)

They look nice and that prices aren't bad, but the ships seem to lack any surface texture which would make drybrushing difficult.

Hmmm. The small ship is rather tasty, and at 15.00 GBP, not a bad price. It's different too, and so useful. May well get a couple of these to supplement my pirate fleet...

But the big ship is strangely featureless - nice shape, but oddly lacking in detail  :?:

And you can see the joins where the sections are stuck together.

A bit of an odd product methinks, and not a patch on the old familiar resin models from Dixon, Village Green and the like... (IMHO)

I think the big ship is very nice indeed.  It looks more realistic than most other wargaming ships.

It is hard to see, but it seems to actually have the tumblehome that most wargaming ships don't have.  To me, this is one of the most prominent characteristics of ships of this period, and its lack in most models is a real shame.

It doesn't look as though there is much wood-grain texture, which is a little bit of a shame.  But this is not insurmountable, and certainly more than made up for by the realism of the overall design.

If I didn't already have a ship of this size made from the Disney 'Black Pearl', this one would definitely be on my shopping list ...

Hopefully someone gets one of those big vessels and will tell us here how they turn out since I'm very interested in the construction details. I can't see why to complain about lacking details - these are nice basic models which could be enhanced with some simple additions (carvings on the gunports or the transom etc.). That should be easier than converting a toy or model vessel.
For that they are IMO reasonably priced, other than some of the ridiculous expensive ships from Old Glory and the like - especially taking into account that there's no additional shipping cost!
For my share I'm keen to order one as soon as I can afford it (now hindered by other projects).

Well if nothing else you get good service as the Postman just delivered the Sea Dog this morning! I only ordered yesterday afternoon, but at least I can now paint it tomorrow!

Overall the detailing is nice. There could be more grain in some of the planks, but otherwise it's a nice size and shape - and I'm really pleased.

Overall it only cost me £13.50 - as postage was free and GoW gave me an 10% discount for making earlier enquiries about the range. Great service! Recommended!

Cap'n - Yep definitely - but there may be a small delay.

My kids dropped my Sony Cybershot down the stairs a couple of weeks ago! I've a Lumix on loan, but it's rubbish - so will need to get the Sony fixed. Another job for today (once I've picked up the PotC Junk from Argos :))

Apologies for grass bases and the modern sailors but the Pirates aren't painted yet.

Some additional pics in this gallery of a Sampan.
