When planning mine I realised one particular detail could be of interest: weight!
A lightweight set would of course be more portable, and would be easier to store on a high shelf.

May I suggest a spin based on this? Weighing the box and contents to find the weight of the whole package.

In this category, I would fail miserably - unless the prize were for the heaviest box+contents, which I would win hands down  :D  - at least unless someone is using solid lead terrain.

Personally I don't think that weight should have a bearing on the competition. For example I could create a very basic game out of sytrofoam which filled the pappis box. I think the existing parameters of having to fit it into the Pappis should be enough- a weight limit would only reduce creativity.

That said, I can see where you are coming from lightweight=easy to travel.  :D

Cheers
Andy

I must say I agree with oldskoolrebel on this one.

That would favour resin or plastic miniatures over metal ones and so on.

Could never live with that!  lol

But, hey, you could always still keep track of the weight of your case and brag about it.  :)

Missed this thread, until I heard it being talked about at Salute, is it too late to enter, as I have had a side project in mind for a few months and this could be the perfect inspiration :D

It is never too late. But the finish date is the same though.  ;)

Not me, I couldn't  :D
And sadly, most of the weight is not metal miniatures (and they are metal....!).
Then again, I have one of the heaviest weight per unit area games tables, I guess, so I have a heritage of heavyweights.
I agree it could skew design, so better forget the weight.

I was just wondering if there is any limit to the dimensions of anything that may be added to the outside of the box?

Well, the point of using the box was to have the game contained in it. If you need to employ outside attached structures to field your game then I think you're on the wrong path.  lol

I have personally just posted one at the workbench with the tag [BOX]. I think that works ok.  :)

Such a shame!
This challenge sounds absolutely brilliant, but I won't be able to get any useful hobby-time until exactly seven days before the deadline...
But I can save the idea until after then, and still do one just for myself.

I can't wait to see what genius you folks will come up with.

Does anyone have the internal dimensions of the Pappis box, as I can't get mine for a few weeks but would like to get on with the build.
Theres more 28mm Superhero Madness at my blog, http://fourcoloursupers.blogspot.com/
And for Ultra-modern Wargaming check out Hotel Zugando at http://ultramoderngaming.blogspot.co.uk/
