printable transparent adhesive paper, help!!
« on: March 27, 2013, 08:33:29 AM »
I'm after transparent adhesive paper that I can print on but have no idea where to look. Does anyone know of any brands that sell this stuff? I'm planning on making some custom dice with the stuff. I have blank, recessed dice and was planning on painting the signs on but thought that printing off the paper would be much easier. Thanks for looking

Could you use 'Clear Inkjet Decal Paper' , usually available form Amazon and print/photocopy shops?

I'm not sure how well decals would work on dice that are being thrown around a lot. But there is always that. I was after something a bit more heavy duty but still transparent.

Been looking into this myself recently.  Search on Amazon for "clear vinyl inkjet stickers" or "labels" and you'll see quite a few things turn up.

You can also get white vinyl stickers, if that helps.

The let us know how they work out, so I can decide whether to buy any :)

You do know you can order custom dice from dice companies?

Vinyl stickers sound quite good. Thanks momotaro

@zizi I looked into that but the few companies I could find we're about a $60 minimum order as I would have to buy 10 dice at least and I want 6 custom sides I think it was $1 per side. If I was doing this large scale I would go this way but at the moment I'm just looking into making 6 dice for a small scale dungeon game.

Well I had a hard job finding any that could print on an inkjet so instead I just went for regular printable matte white stickers. They were very cheap. So I used a page to print off these different sides for some dice.
I stuck them on then spray varnished the dice to he fully give them a bit more stickability.
They are for a quick dungeon game I'm making for my son and I to play. He fully he will be able to play fairly soon. He's 4 but can count really well so that side of things shouldn't prove to troublesome. Although I'm sure hell just end up stomping miniatures around the game board, which will be fun anyway. :)

There are combat dice which have 2 sword "hit" sides, 2 shield "block" sides and 2 "miss" or perhaps for the good guys "choose hit or block" sides.
I also made some loot dice which have 3 good money gaining sides, one is a little bit of cash, moderate cash, chest full of cash. The bad sides are "nothing", "trap" and "MONSTER"
I'm working on basic rules for these too.

this looks cool

in case they start to peel off one day, You can always try printing in reverse on transparent overhead sheet and glueing this into the recesses
