New Japanese Fantasy miniature range Zenit MIniatures
« on: 01 April 2013, 12:02:33 AM »
Spanish Company Zenit miniatures have launched an Indigogo campaign for their new range of Japanese fantasy miniatures (28/30mm scale).

Their existing fantasy models are superb sculpts.  If this comes through they will be spectacular pieces (relatively modest target total so should see these in production).

Ah, I've been eyeing off this range for a while and this pushed me over the edge. Couldn't resist!

The indiegogo prices are quite a bit better than buying from the manufacturer, but a big force still gets reasonably pricey for toy soldiers. But for me, the models are worth it: the nicest samurai/ninja/yokai figs out there. That oni green, all the ninja, the tetsubo monk, and the mounted daimyo are just fantastic.

I think I'll use 'em with SAGA: the Kensei rules are available as free download, but they seem a bit top-heavy and patchy.

I like that range a lot: good proportions, poses and details on humans. I was waiting for the monsters but they're a bit too crazy and "fashion" for what I'm looking for with "samurai stuff". I'll buy some of them tho.

Has anyone played this? The rulebook looks quite nice. I've only just skimmed through it. It seems that it can accomodate larger battles than Bushido does, but covers very similar material. I haven't played Bushido or Kensei, but would love to hear what people think about them in comparison to each other.

The models in both ranges look excellent too, and I think mixing the models together (plus maybe some WGF or Perry samurai) would make for great looking games.

Kensei is an easy game, a good quality is that you can pick similar units, between factions, so there is no a great difference between ''clans'', there are some, but not great differences.

the miniatures have a great quality, and with indiegogo the people that wants more ''magic'' in the game, they will have a lot. But till now I play only with samurais and ashigaru, representing more real battles.

the play system is also great, and easy, but in the ''easy'' there are a lot of things that make the game great.
