Upcoming Black Scorpion Release

Cowgirls 2

Town Watch

Deputy Sheriff Parker

Got very mixed feeling on these. The town watch is mostly good. Cowgirls are just babes with guns ... not real interest for old west. Deputy Tanner have a lot of personnality but I don't like it.

Yeah, I have a handful of kits from them in resin...and I really REALLY prefer metal.

I'll put up with the ones I have, but won't be buying any more I don't think.  I also don't care for most of these releases.  A couple of the townwatch look good, but the rest are silly.  I have zero interest in all the big-boobed gunslingin' babes...never thought I'd say that. :D

You'd think they would notice how annoyed and put off by resin the customer base has been and reverse their decision. Though it might mean a hefty price increase.

I just ordered 4 sets from BSM and while I like the sculpts overall, I HATE resin.  Resin is great for a display piece, that wont be handled.  With display, who cares how brittle the material is??  But for gaming minis...metal is the only way to go.  I must say, while they were my preferred line, I wont buy from BSM again because they cast only in resin now.  Shame.  Overall, more disappointed than not.

I have a fair number of BS resin and they are standing up to gaming fine.

But i have to say I do NOT like the look of any of those at all , would not matter if metal or resin.

Yeah a bit disappointed in the miniatures and the resin. I bought some resin BS cowboys last year and I just didn't like them since then I e-mailed some BS retailers in Europe if they still had some BS miniatures in metal. I now have quite a few (enough) of them in metal.

Regards,
Za

see i love resin, much preferable to me than metal, and ive been doing this for 30 odd years...

it holds the paint better often, weights less, and can hold crisper finer detail than metals.

Ive just ordered some black scorpion minis on the fact they are resin and not metal, digital sculpting and resin is the future, and sticking my heals in for old times sakes that have in many ways had their day is doing more damage to the industry than resin could ever do.

love the new minis, but then i like fun stuff.

I agree that the deputy is the best.

I am not a huge fan of "Bimbo Cowgirl" models.  I have yet to see even one Old West female that actually looked like that.  I own a handful of them, but it gets tiresome... especially because there is a lot of untapped potential for unique models that look like real human beings.

There are another 2-3 sets of Black Scorpion females...and one or two of the models look okay - the rest are bimbos.  The womenfolk in the two civilian packs are great though.

I really like the guy on the right of the Town Watch...it's a set I may have to pick up (after all...I have to justify fifty pounds for free shipping right!?)

Town Watch
+Indians 1
+Indians 2...

...and I'll have to grab up another set or two to justify it all. But not for a while, I have four packs sitting unprimed/painted right now.
