Waaaagh! Gobfang Ugsnaga - RT/2nd Ed Ork force WIP
« on: 12 April 2013, 03:19:01 PM »
Hey,

Right lads and ladys(?) as some of you know I've been snatching up many Orks in the last few weeks and now i have my first few Ladz painted up.

My theme is Blood Axes with a Snakebite Auxiliary force (Read: Slaves from a defeated tribe), so my colour scheme is dark browns and greys. After all, no one wearing a brown shirt has ever caused any problems before eh? lol

These are still very much WIP, and once there finished i'll get nice pictures taken. Until then here is my first few efforts which i've painted (In between painting a Malcador Defender for my Genestealer cult which for the most part can be found here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=51324.00 )

Cheers for looking, all comments over then ''Get better pictures are welcome'' lol

Cheers
Chico

Right-o a update, better pictures still not great though but was in a rush at my local GW:

The infamous EGGnought, still with a half finished basing and a little bit more wear and tear too finish.

Weridboy and Minderz

Blood Axe Boyz

Blood Axe Mech

I also have more Boarboyz and half my Grot herd painted, plus a few Snakebites.

As always comments welcome.

Oooooo! Really love all those minis! :)
(I would tell you abot the photos, but I cannot speak since mine are usually awful...)
Maybe you could risk to add some more colours, but they are great :).

Hey,

I'm running with a Blood Axe and Snakebite force for the most part so i'm trying to limit my colour palette to greys and browns while using red as my splash colour.

Thanks for your nice comment though :)

Looks really nice! I love the old Ork miniatures.

I did a similar project a bunch of years ago, to rebuild my first army I got when I first started 40k.

I'm an old lead head at heart and tend too only buy the old stuff now, there's something about owning all the toys i wanted when i first started gaming 20 years ago.

Anyone who loves the old stuff i recommend this forum: http://bloodforum.treps.net/

Plenty of LAF members on there.

very cool.
I had the plans of making my own 2nd ed ork force, but I really need to cut back on some project, since I'm getting more and more.
To e-bay it is for them.

I do feel the garish colorful look from old 2nd ed GW suits these models better, but the more 'realistic' look does look good on them as well.
Just my personal preference I suppose.

However, being bloodaxes I think the colour schemes fits perfectly, it is after all 'karmoflarge'.

Mine are Blood Axes and Snakebites so not too many bright colours for the boys, my Nobz and Kommandos will have more outlandish camo though.
