undead and a chaos warrior
« on: 15 April 2013, 09:55:22 PM »
Some wraith type undead, the two reaper figures were test figures, the two marauder figures are for my undead army, and the chaos warrior an experiment in colored Armour

Great stuff, sir!
Beautiful effects on the Undead.
 :-* :-* :-*

It seems we have very similar ideas regarding Undead armies.
I intend something very similar in some aspects, but very different in others.

I may well steal something of that colour scheme.
If I can pull it off that is!
 ;)

Great stuff. I especially like the contrast between the blueish wraiths and the warm colours of the metals; most excellent! 8)

I was thinking about what minis to use for Wraiths in my own fledgling undead army, but those Reaper ones look like a good start. ;)

Not too sure about the chaos warrior's armour though, but that may be personal taste, as I don't really like coloured metalics. The paintjob is solid, though it might benefit from some stronger contrast colour somewhere. maybe the emblem on the left shoulder?

Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Cheers guys, i need to add shields to the Marauder wights, as for the chaos warrior, the photo seems to have washed the color out of the Armour, i get what your saying about a different color pad, i tried but he reminded me too much of a space marine!

Fair point there...  lol

How about a gold plated helm perhaps?

Looks great to me...perhaps a thinned out green wash on the Chaos warrior?  I think it looks pretty good but a bit more contrast would be nice.

Undead look fantastic!

Cheers,

Very cool job on all the models! I do like the chaos warrior. After seeing the wraiths and wights the green armour gives him a bit of a ghostly appearance by association, but on his own he's just a very well pained chaos warrior in green tinted shiny armour. Well done!

I like the chaos warrior armour, reminds me of old school 'expert paint set' ink glazes over bare metal, but much more subtly done and with a degree of shading that was always lacking in that method.
But most of all I like the Marauder figures, I've been painting up a few old Marauder Dark Elves recently myself and I really miss those old sculpts. Shame they have become so expensive on ebay :(

Fantastic job on all of these minis, I am really digging the bases though. I normally don't like fully textured bases but you did a great job on them, especially the chaos warrior base. My favourite minis/paint jobs are those old Citadel barrow wights.

Cheers,
