Just starting VBCW. My ideas for an army
« on: April 16, 2013, 03:45:29 PM »
Just getting into VBCW. I have been giving this some thought and this is the first draft:

Lord Carnarvon's Brigade (Hampshire Loyalists)

Command Group:
Lord and Lady Carnarvon of Highclere Castle Hampshire plus household staff

Regulars:
5th Battalion Hampshire Regiment (territorials)

BUF Militia:
BUF VIII Legion Alfred (Motorized)
Commanded by Lord Carnarvon's young nephew Auberon Herbert

Militia:
The Highclere Rifles
Members of Lord Carnarvon's estate

Militia:
The Royal Hampshire LDV
Royalist LDV from Northern Hampshire and surrounding areas

Cavalry:
1st Troop Carnarvon's Horse
Lord Carnarvon's bodyguard

Artillery:
Battery "A" 95th Hampshire Yeomanary (18lb gun)

Armor:
"Goodburry's Goliath" (experimental tank built in Lord Carnarvon's sheds by Professor Goodburry)

Armored Car:
"Action Now" BUF armored car with HMG attached to the Legion Alfred

The basic idea is that Lord Carnarvon has been made Lord Lieutenant of all Royalist forces Hampshire. He commands from Highclere Castle aided by his nephew Auberon Herbert. Hampshire is not secure for the king..... renegade former members of Parliament have established themselves south of Highclere in Winchester and have asked Prince Albert to return from exile in Canada. Added to this..... red workers militia have promised to burn Highclere Castle to the ground as a symbol of the revolution.

In our little battle I command the royalist forces of Lord Carnarvon while my friends will lead the Albertine and Red forces.

Any ideas are always welcome.

Regards

Fallen Scholar

Seems good. Always good to have more government forces. Your freind does now that albert and the reds hate each other as much as the government?

Nice Fallen Scholar,

What rules are you planning on using?

I'm not sure how many of the Solway booklets you have but they provide excellent backstory reading.

Your force combinations look varied and interesting......

Good work :-)

Happy W
