Samurai Battles for Triumph & Tragedy
« on: 21 April 2013, 03:37:15 PM »
Hi there,

the Samurai list from Green Knight is now available as a free download.

http://triumph-tragedy.de/downloads/Samurai_Battles_for_T&T.pdf

I am sorry that it took so long and my apologies that we didnt do a better lay out. Dirk and me are so f+*#' busy at the moment. Barely time for the hobby.

We will come back with a better version later. But this one will be good enough for some fun Samurai games.

Enjoy.

Cheers
Björn

Tobi used a lot of units and I think he had 10 miniatures per unit. But you can start small of course !

One more question :)
In the samurai list, you mention "a samurai army may include the general personal flag. The flag use the normal T&T army standard rules and cost".

I don't find in the rule book how to use the flag and musicien. Did I miss something ?

Yep, you probably missed the SCW Supplement Libertad o Muerte or the Colonial Supplement. The rules for flags are in the supplements.

Here are the rules in short. Just for you.

– the extra cost is 30 points.
- As long as the flag is on the battlefield, any unit within 24 inches AND with Line of Sight to the flag receives a +1 bonus to any morale checks it has to take. In addition, pinned units within this distance may re-roll failed rally checks.
- If the unit carrying the flag is removed from play, place a marker on the spot where the standard bearer stood. The flag may be subsequently picked up by a friendly unit or a friendly hero by playing a special action card; similarly, enemy units or heroes may pick it up as well, scoring them extra victory points if they still control the flag at the end of the game.

Have fun
Cheers

An interesting report. I noticed that you had some issues with the melee rules - would you want to discuss this further so one could maybe streamline issues? Since the basic rules are mainly focused on ranged combat, the close combat part is not as detailed and may not function as well in a setting that has a strong melee aspect, like samurai warfare.

Hi Chris

First of all, it was my first game with T&T rule, I never played the original version, so, maybe my approach will be different than the rest of the group !

Game was fun, due to the activation cards combine with unit cards, and big question was how you will organize your strategic/tactical move. Very interesting.

For my point of view, the major difference with the standard version is the armor, and the gain of 1 HP for every miniature. With Basic T&T, standard troop can be suppressed or killed (coz only 1HP). Binary, black or white.

With the Samurai version, you can be wounded, and you must put one token behind your unit. Combine with suppress market, our first impression have been combat sequence was a little bit complicated, and add nothing special.
