I feel you, waiting for my PLA and an order of Freikorps Werdenfels. Damn postage!  lol

Just a quick post to say that my PLA arrived in this morning's post.

Only had a quick look but first impressions are good - clean castings with plenty of detail. Only surprise is that some are multipart (especially the support weapons pack)

Yes - just got to decide what to do with them, they were a bit of an impulse buy!

I think they may become off world militia.

Their arrival was a bit of a surprise as I had not looked at the label on the package and thought they were the Ironclad Martians that I ordered recently

Mine we're a bit of an impulse buy too. I was thinking of using them as PLA vs US special ops with my WIP Vietnam rules as a basis.

Sorry Dirk, my Work In Progress (WIP) Vietnam rules. One of the guys I game with (2 games in about 8 months is regular for me) reckoned that coming up with a decent Vietnam game wasn't possible as it was an inherently dull and repetitive genre. It's a period I've always fancied gaming so I have taken this as a challenge and have been working on rules since early last year. It's partly inspired by the card play in the boardgame 'Twilight Struggle' and allows the Communist player to utilise counters.

From the photos, it would seem the PLA could pass for US troops.  Are the Chinese visibly smaller than the US guys being Asians?

What?????
Asians are generally smaller in stature than Westerners. I do believe that is pretty widely accepted.

Perhaps SE raised on bare minimum food. China has a billion inhabitants, and I think that the average lenght is somewhere around 171 cm, and western standards 175 or so IIRC. That is not a significant difference at all.

So the answer to my original question, is yes, the PLA figures could be used as additional US troops. Although upon closer inspection, there are a number of differences in equipment.
