3 (Three!!!) condensed AAR's!
« on: 26 April 2013, 11:13:29 PM »
A mate and I played 3 games tonight, all within 2 hours! We used Six Gun Sound rules from Two Hour Wargames, and below is a condensed report (with pics) of the games.

1, Death of a gambler.

Two men have become increasingly agitated in a dispute about cheating at cards, one said he didn’t and the other said he did. Gunplay ensued and the cowboy and the gambler fired at each other, but none hit a target, the cowboy had emptied his gun to boot. The gambler saw his chance and fired, but the furniture stopped the bullets, the cowboy draws his Bowie knife and stabs the gambler straight through the heart!
Realising he could be in deep trouble the cowboy ran outside and jumped on a horse, ready to ride to the General Store to tell his friends. Meanwhile, some angry citizens decided to investigate what all that shooting was about and seeing the cowboy steal a horse one of the brave citizens open up fire. The bullets only graze the cowboys trousers though and he returns fire, the citzen drops to the ground severly wounded! The cowboy makes it to the General Store and meanwhile four citizens are closing in. There is fire opening up on both sides and two citizens bite the dust, while two others are scrambling for the wagon in front of the store to get some cover. The cowboys mock them and stride out bold as brass, the two citizens open up fire but one gets mortally wounded and thusly the last citizen make a brave last stand!
He picks up the fallen friends Colt pistol and with a yell he pops up, empties both guns but fail to take any of the 5 cowhands out, as a reward for his efforts, the offending cowboy in the first place blows his head off!

Victory to my mates cowboys.

2. Cowpokes settling their differences.

The Archer's and O'Sullivan's cowpokes have taken an instant dislike to each other, and it comes to a head as 3 from O’Sullivans drovers is stepping out from the General Store and 2 cowpokes from Archer’s team are exiting the saloon, having already had a few drinks. Harsh words are exchanged and all 5 are staring at their counterparts with hands edging towards the gunbutts. Then, all of a sudden it happens! One of Archer’s drovers reach for his gun, but is beaten by one of O’Sullivan’s boys! Archer’s drovers gun never cleared the holster and he falls with an ugly wound right between his eyes! At this, Archer’s second drover responds in kind and shoots at one of O’Sullivan’s boys, not accurate enough to warrant a hit, but one of O’Sullivan’s boys suddenly remember an appointment far far away from here and runs for it, the other draws back into the General Store. The remaining Archer cowboy runs into the saloon, as he’s emptied his gun.
Seconds tick by as the two sides take stock, and Archer’s drover reloads his pistol. He sneaks up to the batwing doors and sees one of the hated O’Sullivan’s and takes aim. However, the bastard spots him and open up fire, Archer’s drover tumbles out through the door and his gun falls from his lifeless fingers.

Victory for my mates cowpokes, again!

3. Cowboys and Outlaws.

The place is really heated now after all the killings in the neighbourhood, the Archer’s and the O’Sullivans are practically trying to wipe each other out, not a single person in the county are unaffected, everyone have to choose a side, the rivers run red with blood. In all this, three wanted men join in on Archer’s side, all capable gunmen. One day in Obsession, Old Man Archer himself and the three men are seen by five of the O’Sullivan’s supporters, too good an opportunity for the O’Sullivan’s to pass up. Guns are glinting in the sunlight and everyone not involved are running for the nearest door and locks it!
Old Man Archer wastes no time, everything that could be said has been told, they only listen to the barks of the guns now! He pulls his two Colt’s and open up fire on the hated O’Sullivans, felling one to the ground, then he wisely enters the General Store as he’s emptied the guns. One of the wanted men also fires at the O’Sullivans but gets dropped in the return fire. One of the hired men on Archer’s side carefully take aim with his Winchester and blows the head off one of the O’Sullivan’s then he and another of his companions withdraw into the saloon where they fortify their position. After the initial bloodletting and gunfire there is a calm and quiet over Obsession, one can hear a pin drop. The O’Sullivan’s are keen to avenge their brothers but not too eager to die so they edge closer to the saloon in a group, the three that are left.
Meanwhile Old Man Archer has reloaded his Colt’s and carefully he exits the backdoor of the General Store to take stock of the situation, just as he’s closed the door behind him, one of the O’Sullivan crowd is sneaking a peek in, trying to get a visual on the target. Three things happen in very quick succession: one of the O’Sullivan crowd kicks in the backdoor to the saloon and spots the two Archer men, he manage to kill one of them but the man with the Winchester coldly dispatches him in return. Another of O’Sullivan’s men is looking in through the window of the saloon at the same time, but the man with the Winchester spots him and puts a bullet in his brain before he can shoot, and Old Man Archer does what has made him survive for so long. He edges around a corner, spots the last O’Sullivan man with his back turned and from a distance of about 20ft he fires both his six-guns and drills him full of holes.

Victory to me and Old Man Archer!

The first game was a scenario of my own devising, the other two were from the scenarios in the rule book (there are several ones to choose from, Bank Robbery, Prison Transport, Posse, Cattle Rustling etc but we rolled Gunfights both times), All in all a very entertaining and quick two hours.
