1930's Noir
« on: 27 April 2013, 01:48:00 AM »
Greetings Folks,

I've been working on a setting for some 1930's gangland gaming. I decided to make a whole bunch of cardstock terrain for this. Much of it I designed myself using photoshop although the grey tenements are direct from Worldworks and I used bits of other Workworks designs as the basis of the red tenement buildings. The other buildings were designed from scratch by scouring the internet for textures and images or by just creating my own textures.

The base is a 3' x 4' artist's canvas frame that I found cheap in a local variety store with a couple of coats of dark grey acrylic.

Cheers,

Those look great!

It looks like at least some of them have interiors?

Really like the look.
I will have to rethink card stock buildings.
Love the Congo Club building.

Those buildings look really good, as do the miniatures.

Nice game board! The Congo Club is very cool -- looks like the sort of place any Pulp character would want to visit. You have to give a game report when you use it. Looks useable for all sorts of adventures.

Best wishes,

Excellent work! Wondered where the gumshoe in the long coat comes from?

Thanks for the kind replies. I still have a lot of detailing to do but that's the sort of stuff that can be done over time.

He is a nice figure and he comes from Reaper. I'm not sure of the name of the miniature though.

Very atmospheric.

Between yourself and Cherno I am having to rethink my original opinion of card scenery.

They look great! I like the Congo Club, and the Gumshoe is an excellent.  :)

Here are some pics of the basement system. It can be set up in various configurations and there are various sneaky stair wells scattered throughout the buildings. I decided on "open" pieces for ease of play and visibility.
