@The Dozing Dragon: The picture on the lid is exactly as I found it. Some folks at a Dutch wargame forum suggested I use this tin for my next project to celebrate our new king:

Not quite sure if I want to do that though ;)

@Saragarhi: I'll look into those Musketeer rules, sounds like a very interesting project. I was thinking about a 15mm game using Khurasan's Walking Dead or GZG's Firefly miniatures. I have not yet decided, though.

Construction was relatively straightforward. I used foamboard to make the walls. The stone texture was made by using pens and pencils. First, I used a pen to draw the stone tiles themselves, then I used a soft pencil (HB) to carefully apply texture. Styrodur is a far better material for this technique, as foamboard is just a bit too soft to hold the texture properly, but I had foamboard laying about, so that's what I used. After painting them, I glued them to the sides of the tin with PVA glue. The hexes were flocked before I glued them to the tin (again with PVA glue). The four wooden poles in the corners are there to hide the fact that the walls do not fit perfectly.

I hope this helps.

Cheers
Jase

Jase,
Thanks for the details. Sounds like a much simpler and more sensible solution than I had imagined (I'd assumed you'd used individual "bricks" to build the wall.

I was thinking of something like a single room interior from Vivotniks musketeer terrain thread here:

Unfortunately I'm lazy, and much less talented than he is!
Cheers,
Andy

But the game aera was on the top of the box.

I bought this tin actually for the same purpose  lol, making an arena and play the gladiator game by em4 miniatures. Nice executed tin you made Jase.

Za

::) Made a small mistake, it is slightly different tin sold in by Albert Heijn (a major grocery store in the Netherlands) which I bought.

I just ordered the game from EM4

Regards,
Za

Off course I won't change the outside of the tin... It's just to beautiful  lol

That's great!  :-* :-* :-*

Where did you get those miniatures? Consider this idea stolen! Although I'll probably not make it on top of the tin, but inside it.

Can you send me your rules as well?

Hi Eric,

No rush, but it would be grand if you would be able to do that. French is not really a problem :)

Nice one Kerel!

I've only just seen this, but it's a cracker. Perhaps next year we could have a meet-up of everyone with a game in a tin. There's always a spare table or two, we could nab one of those. Captain Stinky is deadly at this, I'd like to see someone beat him...  :)
