INEPTT faces Supernatural Opponent - OPERATION PHAROH

Last Sunday INEPTT took a new twist for the players - Supernatural opponents! I will provide the background prior to the AAR.
As I continue to develop the rules for INEPTT I am adding in new Aliens and other Paranormal beasties! This time it was a Mummy. I won't say what the mummy rules are but suffice to say that one mummy is a huge threat to even 4 INEPTT teams! (Mummies are nasty!)

Situation - Bugtussle Saskatchewan reported a strange occurence at their Museum of Egyptian History (and the visiting Mummy Exhibit), initial indications were that one of the doctors (Dr Schlintzer) at the Top Secret Medical Laboratory recited an incantation from the Necrinomicon and this was followed by a severe lightning storm and black out of all communications. Not power, just communications. RMCP Officers responded to the museum and found the Sarcophagus missing as was Doctor Schlintzer. Museum patrons were all rendered unconscious from the lightning storm and there was no reaction from the Fire deparment at all.

Mission - 4 INEPT Teams are to make a road move from Saskatoon Saskatchewan to Bugtussle, secure the town and top secret facility and then search for the lost sarcophagus and Dr Schlintzer (who is deep in INEPTT weapons research).

Execution - Fly by drop ship to Saskatoon and then road move by most rapid means possible to Bugtussle using a two prong approach one from the south and one from the east - each approach of two teams. Teams will dismount outside of visiual range of Bugtussle (just in case).

Friendly Forces: 4 INEPT Teams (between 3 and 4 agents per team) 7 local RCMP officers (3 of whom are SWAT), possibly 8 heavily armed, well trained mercenaries guarding the Laboratory.

Enemy Forces: UNKNOWN.

Lieutenant Sam Steele - OIC OP PHAROH
Arrived at approximately 1820, April 21st at the outskirts of Bugtussle. Immediately met by local RCMP commander (Staff Sergeant Smith) who gave us the situation as he saw it. His SWAT had not deployed as there was no where to send them. Two Patrol officers responded to the problem at the Museum and were questioning the witnesses.

I had two teams come in from the south - one went immediately to the Top Secret Lab, the other started clearing houses. The other two teams came in from the East and clear the police station and houses.

During initial sweep, Team Flashbang missed the second and third floors of the Firehall, but cleared a number of houses and stores at the north end of town. Southern teams had success clearing stres and houses but failed to gain entrance to the Lab - even with INEPTT credentials. Sky was turning darker and darker grey/black and wind was howling through the town making a surreal scene.

Further prodding by Senior officer in south sector gained access to the Lab security zone, which was great because we started moving all civilians down that way to use the area as a secure compound just in case.

We had nearly all civilians heading towards the hospital mostly under escort but some on their own. The owner of the gun store and his two brothers chose to stay there with an INEPTT agent and fortify the place in caes of any incidents. Suddenly the winds ceased and out of the firehall came at least 40 zombies and a huge lumbering mummy. Ravers quickly caught the RCMP SWAT team and tore them to shreds, Staff Sgt Smith went down fighting but the quick loss of 3 RCMP officers was a huge blow!

The main zombie horde tore into an INEPTT Agent and 3 civilians - all were dispatched by the zombies so quickly that no one had a chance to fire in self defence!

I called all teams to pull back to the Lab compound but in a running gun fight they just couldn't move quickly enough to break away - especially with the Raver zombies who can move exceptionally fast! We lost two more Agents and 3 more civilians but now we were taking out a good number of Zombies as well!

A second group of about 30 zombies came out from behind the gun shop (in the direction of the Bugtussle graveyard), which would have caught the better part of the towns population and 2 INEPTT teams in the open, had it not been for the foresight of setting up a fortress in the gunshop. Zombies surrounded the shop and gun fire was popping off from every direction.

As well 2 RCMP officers and two civilians hid in the top floor of the office building adjacent to the gun shop. The RCMP added their firepower to the barrage from the retreating INEPTT Agents, but sadly this attracted zombies and the Mummy!

The town was alive with gun fire from all directions and the fire was both accurate and efficent but there were just too many zombies to stop them all, also at this point it was noted that zombies were moving inside the Lab (likely from the 7 cadavers held in cold storage - and these ahd broken through a couple doors and were engaging security and INEPTT forces inside the Lab.

After a tremendous fight the gun shop was over run - with all four people cut down by the zombies. But they bought time for the rest of the INEPTT Agents and Civilians to gain access tot he compound and the gate was shut. During the running gun fight Team Porthos went through some townhouses and advanced on the Firehall to see what generated the Zombies. At the same time the Mummy and his zombies assaulted the top floor of the office building trying to kill the defenders!


These two RCMP officers held off the mummy and saved the two civilians that were with them.

Team Porthos made the top level of the firehall to discover the mad doctor (Schlintzer) and the Sarcophagus. Schlintzer opened fire with his .357 magnum pistol but it didn't penetrate the armour of the INEPTT Agents. The Agents then knocked out the Dr and destroyed the Sarcophagus. This had an immediate effect - all the zombies fell and turned to dust and the mummy disappeared!

Whew! Game over - victory INEPTT!


INEPTT WINS! Dr is knocked out and Sarcophagus is destroyed!

That was fun to read. Where did you get the lab building from? I haven“t seen anyone like it on the pages I usually rummage around in.

I had it custom built from Demo-laser cuts - Steven is great and if you ask about the Top Secret Lab he made for Shawn I am sure you could get the same one - or make Mods. In hind sight I should have added some windows but at the time I didn't want to as it was supposed to be TOP SECRET :) Now I use it as a hospital with a top secret lab attached as much as I do just a top secret lab :D

Another great AAR. It reminds me of mix of the Joe Ledger novels and X-Files  ;D

LOL yes indeed they would look familiar :) I have the third being converted to carrying an assault rifle :) So watch for that guy in photos soon :)
If you look closely at the Doc by the Sarcophagus you may recognize him as well - although he is only 3/4 painted :) The other Doc and nurse figs are not nearly done so they were in the hospital but no photos this time out.

Pred thanks for the kind words. I enjoy writing the AARs and running the games. We are getting nearer and nearer to end product and then I have to decide whether or not to self publish, publish on demand or use kickstarter - I have a couple folks who are willing to do some sculpting for me.
