Using towelling for scenery,
« on: April 28, 2013, 10:07:49 AM »
Guys,

I am looking at creating my own modulair boards (actually considered pledging for the sectret weapons ones but reckon I create my own)
I read in BGK about using towels fors grass. Anybody have experience in this. I used it ones but went horribly wrong.
Any "how to's" or Youtube clips anyone can recommend?

Cheers,

Nightmask

Don't know to any "How to's" on line, but I use it quite often.

I glue it to MDF or polystryene using PVA without any problems, some I just glue up to edge, for a more robust finish I turn it over the edges and staple gun it as well. After it has dryed I then spray it with varying shades of green and yellow car paint.

Sometimes if it comes up at the edges or along roads I just glue it back down with PVA.

In this blog:

http://necropolishorrorskirmish.blogspot.mx/search/label/Scenery

The author uses towel for pretty much all his scenery boards with ASTOUNDING results.

Check all the pics carefully.

And somewhere (just search a littler around the blog), he even explains all the steps for glueing, painting, etc.

Hope that helps.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

He says that resin wil go "yellow" over time if not tainted with paint? Anybody have similar experiences?
