Thanks for sharing.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

I did. lol. They are TAG Russians with WW2 German helmets (from West Wind). There's a few WIP shots on an earlier thread. Here's a link...

The Saracen APC is by Britannia Miniatures, as are the crew. Its a old fashioned, even for the Nigerian Army, but according to internet sources they still have about 10 in use, so I thought 'why not?' as it's such a nice model.

absolulty, but I might need to use Mahdist heads as the heads/hair on the majority of them are too 'white'

Great blog! Looks like there will be lots of interesting scenarios. Will there be a map of Zugando?

Thanks for the comments and for anyone who has signed up to follow the blog. I have just finished a T55 for my Nigerian Army. I will hopefully get round to photographing it and posting on my blog in the next day or two.

I like the idea of a map, but I am not great at drawing and or computers. Can anyone recommend a good (and preferably free) program for drawing simple maps?

Perhaps you can use something like http://www.tinymap.net/ as base for your maps.
Оr even google Earth.  Real world maps works with a little modifications looks quite well for imagination projects.
For more advanced map making tools i can recommend: http://www.profantasy.com/default.asp
You can achieve impressive results with this software, but product not free and in fact not really easy to use for beginners.
Will follow your blog with interest, your imagination seems well thought out.

I tend to lift a topographic map of somewhere, the sort without labels and just mess around with it on MS Paint to alter the coastline (flipping the image can work wonders to disguise somewhere)... you can add your own borders, towns etc, along with names.

I would second Arlequin's suggestion. MS Paint is easy to use, although you might want to check out a tutorial for it. Have a look at some wargame maps on the web and copy and paste (enlarge/reduce as desired) onto Paint. Boardgame geek is a good site for having a look at.

Thanks for the responce guys. I am amazed by the feed back! I have 11 followers in less than 24 hours. That took me 6 month with my first blog.  :D The trouble is now I will have to do something really cool to impress you all and confirm the faith you have shown in me.

Just to let you all know I have posted my first entry, and it's a big one- with an overview of my Nigerian Army force. I hope you enjoy.
