Both really nice PJs on these figures...but what makes them for me is the great backgrounds that both employed...they add tremendously to the feel of each team.

Tough choice!

I don't know how You feel about, when You see afterwards, that You've voted for the "looser" ... I often felt more relaxed by doing so! Especially when it is so tough to choose, anyway.
Great paint-jobs!  :-*

And ... I like the red-yellow shirt!!

I agree...love the clothes on those Africans! Wonderful job. And I also agree with the atmospheric shot in the graveyard...especially the guy who looks like he's about to lose his lunch!  lol

Both are well done.  The Africans are too clean and neat.  I have not seen a video report of a conflict there without  noting that the insurgents have torn clothes, a measure of dirt, dust, and grime.  Even their shoes are clean.
I am interested in land warfare throughout history and beyond, except the Seven Years War, in Europe.

Rob, I know that it hard to "dirty" up a miniatures after you have lovingly painted it...I feel your pain.

Dolmot, great job on the paint and the composition of the scene.

A curious tit-bit about the scene: The grave is really fresh. I realised well in advance that the composition should include an open grave to make sense. Of course, it's easy to make one but I repeatedly managed to forget it until Friday night when I was building the set. Because it consists of a thick layer of sand and PVA, it took hours to dry. Despite trying to speed up the process by heating it on a stove (after making tea), it was still a bit damp from glue and paint when I took the pics. So if you observe any hyper-realistic wet soil effects, the secret is using wet soil. ;)
