Boards/terrain - i have buildings etc to do adventures in Asia, Africa and (rural) Spain/Mexico ... but nothing  which would pass as 1920s urban Europe/USA.

However, inspiration has struck! [read: i probably saw someone do it on here and thought that i'd nick that idea at some point].

To capture the Pulp mood and in keeping with the 1920s gangster theme i'm going to try a plain black 3 x 3 board (to represent the floor plan of buildings) and then infill with tones of grey strips of varying lengths and widths to show the sidewalks and roads/alleys. Add circular pools of white/yellow (street lights) and triangular chinks of light (doorways in buildings) which could be a Plot points. Add a few crates and vehicles ....

What do you think chaps/chapesses?

Sarissa do some nice cheap buildings suitable for this.

Otherewise, there are 2D maps available for this era.

I ordered the Pulp Alley cards last week and I have them now in my hands; they are a great quality product. The ruleset is also very nice and well written and I have begun to paint some figures from Pulp Figures, that are wondeful-pulp-characters.

Awesome, Juan! We're glad you're enjoying Pulp Alley.

I have painted up my first Leagues [well, added a few bandits to my existing figures] which, coincidentally, fit in well with my BoB project:

The Dog Meat General League - a vicious disposessed Chinese Warlord turned to banditry (is there a difference?), and

Big Frank's League - gentleman adventurer, war-hero, Cambridge explulee, soldier of fortune, inventor, raconteur ... Big Frank is all those things. Having made and lost a fortune in South America, Big Frank now turns his attention to China where he hopes to bend the turbulent times (192?) to his financial advantage

Photos to follow once i work out what attributes to fit to the figures.

Excellent! Did you write a roster for these guys?

There's a very handy "fillable roster" on the yahoo group with lots of cool drop-downs.

I've not had chance to look at the rosters and can't get access to Yahoo sites  ... :(

I did however pick up the Copplestone Gangsters from Triples. I dallied briefly with the Artizan Cultists (but there was only multiples of the same pack) and Sleuths/Cops

Gearing up for our first Pulp Alley game next week. 1920/30s mob and Chinese gangs - 4 players ABW (no way i'll be able to paint my gangsters for then so Chinese it is)

Fingers crossed, i've sourced the Green Hornet and Shadow Pulp figures.

I've bought the Shadow and Phantom DVDs for inspiration. Also reading the Big Book of Pulps which i bought for peanuts ...  :D
